Calotropis gigantia - A widespread perennial of the drier parts of the country particularly in sandy dunes near the sea. It forms large clumps when allowed to grow undisturbed. It has a milky white sap that is poisonous. The flowers are an attraction to butterflies and the large black bumble bee. 

  


Cassia auriculata - A sun loving perennial shrub or small tree to a height of 10-12 feet. It grows in open spaces and often forms large clumps. Butterflies ignore the flowers.


Glycosmis pentaphyla - A perennial shrub or small tree of the undergrowth found up to about 1500 feet elevation. Flowers in clusters, white and very sweet scented.


Toddalia asiatica - A thorny perennial straggler of the dry and intermediate zones with a distinctive leaf aroma.


Asystasia Gangetica - This is a herbaceous annual that grows in open spaces during the monsoons.
