Seasonal Variations

Male wet season form

Upper side forewing: The broad black termenal band is strongly dentate on the inner edge.
Upper side hind wing: The black band is only slightly dentate on its inner edge compared to the forewing.
Under side forewing: Color and pattern similar to the upper side, but vein 4 and the median vein is black
Under side hind wing: Termenal band wider than on upper side; vein 7 and subcostal black.

Male dry season form

Upper side forewing: Similar to the wet season form but with reduced black markings.
Under side forewing: Similar to the wet season form but lacks black veins.

Female wet season form - very variable.

Upper side forewing: The white ground colour is greatly reduced to 4 to 6 creamy white stripes; the remainder is heavily dusted with black scales. 
Upper side hind wing: The white ground colour is obscured by the heavy dusting of black scales, particularly along the veins. The termenal band is very wide.
Under side forewing: Similar to the wet season male, but the black markings on the veins are broader.
Under side hind wing: The black termenal band is very diffuse and wide.

Female dry season form

Similar to the wet season form, but it lacks the heavy dusting of black scales.
Under side forewing: White stripes coalesce to form 2 or 3 larger white areas.
